This is going to be a quick post. Friday was a little difficult, but looking back I was overreacting. It was the first full day with my family, and I did not know what to do. We had Arabic in the morning, and a homestay debrief. We then went back to the CCCL and our families picked us up to go home for Friday Cous Cous (Pic attached). It was really good (duh.). Then I was going to meet up with my friend Sara and her sister because my family didn't really have any plans besides digesting. We met at the CCCL, and went to a park/garden thing that i forget the name that I think was called L'oulidad (it wasn't called that, but something like that). It was very pretty and was on the water. It felt like a resort, but Sara's sister said that they were just like normal homes. So surprising. Then we went through the medina (very crowded) and went to inui (the internet store). We were there forever and went to two stores. It ended up not even working , but i'm over it. I am going to try to sell it to someone for a little cheaper than I bought it for, and theres still a chance that it will work? Idk whatever. We spent forever at inui (similar to Verizon..) On the way to the second Inui store we ran into our friend Asif, who was here last semester (on the migration program) and he is very chill/go-w-the-flow, so that helped. He said everything was going to work out, and it has... It became late so I decided to stop trying and go home. I don't have a curfew per-se, but I usually feel bad/want to check in with my family. Asif brought me back to my house (thank GOD) and they were totally fine with me coming in at the time i did~ 9:45. We had some tea/cookies/cake, and I asked my sis if she had dinner yet (I really wasnt hungry, and she just kinda mumbled and said yeaaa or something). I assumed that I missed dinner, but I was okay. I tried to explain my sister the internet situation, and she gave me one of her modems that seemed like it would work, and told me to get a days worth of internet to see if it worked. (update:as of feb 5th: I have yet to do that). Then my brother came home. He was nice, and asked me the normal questions. My "mom" brought in the chocolates I brought and we ate that. We broke out the white chocolate, and because it is so cold in the house- it was like SO hard to cut. The chocolate like broke the knife, so they brought out another one and we cut it up. They seemed to like it and I said "I don't really like this, but people do, and my professor told me to bring this because you don't have it here" my sister said "i dont like it either" (twins!!!) and we laughed a lot about that. The dad like loved it though. Funny. Anyway- I was ready to go to bed, and was about to go change in to piyamas, and then I saw the dad bring an entire tanjine into the living/dining room! :O We ate dinner at like 11:30. (Probably the same time you guys were eating dinner). We had some sort of like meatball/potato combo-- veryyy delicious, but unnecessary I was SO tired at the end, I like RAN into my pjs and went to bed.
I attached some pix, but for more go to my facebook album
